FDU’s Petrocelli College of Continuing Studies announces a special performance of A Christmas Carol performed by Gerald Dickens, great-great grandson of the author Charles Dickens. Only two performances have been scheduled for Tuesday, December 6th at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Metropolitan Campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Dickinson Hall, Wilson Auditorium.
Gerald has worked as an actor, director and producer for many years. In 1993 he created his first one-man show, a theatrical performance of A Christmas Carol inspired by Charles’ own energetic readings of the 1860s. Gerald has taken workshops and performances into schools, colleges and universities both in the UK and the USA. He regularly performs in major theatres and arts centers, at hotels and stately homes, cruise ships and several arts and literary festivals in the UK.
Gerald’s one-man dramatization of A Christmas Carol has been regularly broadcast on radio. His television work includes various appearances on features and documentaries for BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Gerald is now in the process of recording unabridged versions of the complete works of Gerald Dickens, the first of which are already available to download.
To obtain tickets for either the 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. performance, contact the Division of Continuing Education, 201.692.6500. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. The performance is approximately 90-minutes in length. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
