There are thousands of cities on earth, depending on the definition of the term. It is important to take a moment to deconstruct the word #CITY before determining how many there are. The United States has 3,007 counties and 137 county equivalents for a total of 3,144 counties and county equivalents. #Cities and #Towns. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 19,354 incorporated places in the US.
The United Nations has contradictory definitions in its reports. A report compiled from World Atlas calculated that there were over 4,416 cities in the world with a population of 150,000 or more permanent residents.
I write about the challenges faced by good people living in me-centric cities. We are searching for more individuals who are willing to become ambassadors who tell folks about #CITYIMAGES or by contributing stories.

In the corporate-controlled media, we often read about the terrible problems inside many communities. The problems are dire, no question. For example, hundreds of thousands in many cities do not have running water in their homes due to shutoffs, or cannot afford to pay their heating and electric bills, and have to send their children to low-performing schools.
We want to tell the stories of people who are trying to solve problems. We wish to introduce everyday people bringing love, grit, and ingenuity to heal the places they call home. They are stories of folks helping cities show the way forward.
