There appears to be a growing amount of concern on the part of many people about the future plans to build a new City Island Bridge.

Thousands of visitors board the City Island trolley at Pelham Bay Station, others drive over in their private vehicles, or travel to the island via MTA buses and let's not forget the nearly 5 thousand residents who live on the island.

Public officials should realize that City Island needs total access and having two bridges may not be a bad idea. One suggestion is to keep one bride for emergency and public safety vehicles, another person recommends dividing commercial and pleasure vehicles, with a toll and keep the other for residential traffic, who would purchase annual stickers.

Do you have suggestions? What do you think about the plans for a City Island Bridge?
