Members from the Christian congregation of Trinity Methodist Church of City Island held the annual Easter celebration at sunrise this morning. The waterside services were followed by nearly a full house of children and adult worshipers.

Pastor Ezra Hongchang Yew led the services at the 165 year old church, which is a City Island favorite locations. This special congregation invites people of all races and cultures to participate in devotionals during every and all seasons and also asks the faithful to take their prayers to the public at large.

Easter Sunday is like a Superbowl party for Christian preachers because people who do not usually attend church on Sundays make a special effort to celebrate.

Christians across the world are celebrating Easter, commemorating the day followers believe Jesus was resurrected in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. The mystery of Easter calls on the faithful to question our faith, our fidelity, and our very existence.
