The City Island Theater Group is now accepting resumes for our upcoming season and future productions: February, May and November 2012.
Directors will meet and collaborate with the set, costume, lighting and sound designers, make notes on the technical needs in the script, cast the production (in collaboration with producers), plan the rehearsals, and bring the show to fruition.
We are looking for directors with previous experience, who can develop an individual vision and interpretation of the playwright’s intentions. We are looking for the person who, through this creative collaboration process, will guide the actors in developing a deeper understanding of the characters’ motivations and relationships. The end result should be a full integration of a fast paced, well-timed look and feel of the whole production, from effective pacing, transitions, design and technical aspects of the show.
The City Island Theater Group was founded in 1998 and has entertained City Island audiences with a wide range of theatrical performances at a reasonable cost. Its actors and production crew are all volunteers; many of them from the City Island community and throughout the Bronx. Productions are made possible from grants and generous contributions from the community.
