On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness—or genius—will she inherit?

SEEKING: (2Women + 2 Men)

Robert: (50's) - Professor of mathematics, a genius who suffered from mental illness in the later years of his life causing him to be unable to finish his groundbreaking work.

Catherine: (mid-late 20's) his daughter, a depressed college drop-out who stayed home to care for her father over the last few years of his life. A mathematical genius in her own right, but she is lost and has possibly inherited not only her father's genius but his mental illness. Her attitude about life is cynical and often bitter. The relationship with her father although sometimes antagonistic on the surface, was sustained by strong mutual affection.

Hal: (Mid to late 20's) - a mathematician who is one of her father’s former students is bent on finding proof of a groundbreaking mathematical theorem written by Robert. Hal also becomes romantically involved with Katherine.

Claire: (late 20's) - Catherine's sister, wants to take Catherine to NY to be "cared for" and possibly institutionalized. Claire is no nonsense, take charge, kind of gal.
