Classical Jazz

When I was a young boy living in Habana Cuba, my father enjoyed listening to one of the most popular American art forms. JAZZ.

One of the jazz tunes that I still like to play to this day, long after he is gone but never forgotten is… Song For My Father  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CWeXOm49kE0

Horace Silver played the “hard bop” of modern jazz but wrote joyful tunes that make us want to tap our feet and never stop listening. Interestingly enough, Steely Dan stole the very first sound on this recording the bass line for the title track for their hit “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number”  https://youtu.be/UfZWp-hGCdA  https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/the-story-behind-the-song-steely-dans-sly-…
