NSA warns that the next terrorist attack could become a Cyber attack, which may have the capacity of damaging the grid, our banking system, US air traffic, Water dams, not to mention the actions of stealing many corp secrets. Officials suspect these cyber attacks are coming from the government of People's Republic of China.
Cyberterrorism is a premeditated, politically motivated attack against information, systems, programs, and data which results in violence against non-combatant targets by sub-national groups or clandestine agents.
Unlike a virus, a cyberterrorist attack is designed to cause physical violence or extreme financial harm. U.S. Commission of Critical Infrastructure Protection warns that possible cyberterrorist targets include the banking industry, military installations, power plants, air traffic control centers, water systems and sensitive public safety.
