My wife and I watched a film called Election this weekend. As an educator, t first I liked the student but then changed my mind.
Eventually, it develops into involuntary laughter to the end of the story of deserved and undeserved comeuppance for the two main characters. If alien archeologists ever land on Earth long after we're gone and want to appreciate the true human spirit, this film will be a piton on their climb.
This film perfectly captures the raw ambition and psychopathy of that type of bloodless overachiever who will do anything, including cheating to win.
It is also about a teacher's personal life played by Matthew Broderick becoming complicated as he works with a student, played by Reese Witherspoon during that school's elections.
