The blues were popularized by W.C. Handy, Ma Rainey, and Jelly Roll Morton’s embracing the music since the early 20th century.

Throughout the previous and now into the 21st centuries, the blues have been an evolving musical genre in its own right, or left and in the middle as well. It has been said that one can’t enjoy the blues unless they’ve paid their dues.

This blues standard was originally titled ‘I’m Your Hoochie Cooche Man’. One of 17 children, he was born Lee Conley Bradley, there is some dispute about Broonzy’s birthdate. Some sources say 1893 while others claim 1903.
