Cuba's Communist dictator is dead. The revolutionary who rose to power and became a fierce caudillo has died, his brother and current President Raul Castro announced Friday night to state media.

Fidel and his brother Raul managed to turn the pearl of the Antilles into a third world island where no one but themselves could thrive, while million fled and thousands died trying to leave Cuba.

I was a young boy growing up in Cuba and watched the Castro brothers, along with Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos and others successfully organized a revolution with a handful of fighters, which eventually toppled Cuban another dictator named Fulgencio Batista and turn the island upside down and began exporting their brand of revolution all over the world.
