A Somali suspect, who was allegedly tied to militants, was held and interrogated on U.S. Navy vessel for several months. He was reportedly captured by the American military back in April and then interrogated for months aboard a US ship without being read his Miranda rights or allowed to have a lawyer.
The Obama administration has now announced that man is here in New York City to face prosecution before a civilian court. The indictment was unsealed in New York and states that Ahmed Abdulkadir Warsame is charged with nine counts related to accusations that he provided support to the Somalia-based Al Shabaab and the Yemen-based Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
AA Warsame was apparently captured on April 19, and officials now say the plane carrying him arrived in New York City late last night. Here we go again... Get ready New Yorkers!
