Global China Connection is hosting the 5th annual conference at Columbia on April 27! Global China Connection - Columbia Chapter is a student-run organization dedicated to fostering deep and trusting personal relationships among Chinese and non-Chinese university students.
On April 27, 2013, they will host our fifth annual conference at Columbia University in New York City, entitled "Soft Power and Hard Currencies: Balancing Politics, Culture and Economics”. This forum will analyze China's development through two lenses: the hard currencies and economic potential, as well as the "soft power" of China, including the cultural, political, and social aspects.

Keynote speakers are Dr. Vishakha N. Desai, former president of Asia Society, and Jill Lerner, president of American Institute of Architects, New York chapter. Our panelists will include Prof. Lv Xiaobo, member of Committee of 100, Prof. Myron Cohen, Director of Columbia Weatherhead East Asian Institute, and Jennifer Wen Ma, member of Creative Committee of Beijing Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies and Emmy Award Winner.
The panels include:
1. Law and Society: China's Political and Economic Landscape from a Legal and Political Perspective;
2. China's Global Ambassador: The Future Implications of the Role of China's Art and Culture in shaping China's Global Image;
