An estimated 60,000 people gathered in NYC's Central Park to help end extreme poverty all over the world. The weather made it a gorgeous day as well as a beautiful night in Central Park, all for a great cause.
The leaders of Bangladesh, India, Norway and the United Nations appeared at the Global Citizen Festival headlined by Jay Z in New York's Central Park. India's Narendra Modi, Bangladesh's Sheikh Hasina, Norway's Erna Solberg and U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon appeared at the event.
Musical acts includes Fun., Carrie Underwood, The Roots, Sting, No Doubt and Tiesto. Celebrity hosts included Hugh Jackman, Jessica Alba and Katie Holmes.
Alex Wagner and Chris Hayeswill hosts MSNBC were live from Central Park. MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow and Joy Reid were backstage providing live interviews with world leaders and celebrity guests.
Tamron Hall hosts an NBC News prime-time special featuring highlights from concert headliners with limited commercial interruptions, during which viewers will be shown ‘Global Citizens’ digital campaigns in the areas of vaccines, education, sanitation and water, and ending extreme poverty by 2030.
