The 2017 Golden Globes on NBC aka The Hollywood Foreign Press awards are viewed as an Oscar predictor. La La Land is a front-runner for the rest of awards season.

The major motion picture musical won seven awards, including best musical, best actor and best actress. Moonlight won one Golden Globe, but it was a big one: best drama.

Actor Hugh Laurie's comments at the Golden Globes included the funniest anti-Donald Trump line in a YUGE night full of them. Thanking the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the award, the British actor warned of a "last ever"... "I don't mean to be gloomy but it has the words 'Hollywood,' 'foreign' and 'press' in it," he said. "I also think to some Republicans even the word 'association' is slightly sketchy," he added as the audience laughed and cheered.

Laurie took home the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for his role in "The Night Manager" was referring to the "strained relationship" between the president-elect and those in entertainment. Laurie joked, "on behalf of psychopathic billionaires everywhere."
