Harvest Moon 2021

Submitted by ub on

The Harvest Moon this year in 2021 is spectacular in many ways. Harvest moons are full moons that occur once a year when sister moon is closest to the autumnal equinox, which is the beginning of Autumn or Fall, usually on Sept. 22 or 23. This year's harvest moon arrives tonight September 20 and will appear exactly opposite the sun at 7:54 p.m.

Mark your calendar because if you miss it tonight,  you will have to wait 12 months to see the light of this silvery moon before it returns once again.

The moon will be 100 percent full hence the full moon of September 2021 and will be shining in the night sky this week, just in time for the official start of fall as the autumn equinox arrives.

Better known as the “harvest moon,” the September moon will officially reach its fullest phase tonight but it will look big and bright for a few days.
