After releasing one of the most successful albums in the history of Rock music 🎶 with Dark Side of the Moon, which I’ve enjoyed live in concert including at NYC’s Carnegie Hall my my fave venue.
Pink Floyd found that everyone wanted a piece, and were more than happy to go overboard on the flattery as long as they had enough time to watch the money pile up. Interestingly, this is one of my grandson's and junior guitar master’s favorites. He is also a fan of The Beatles and is not a teenager yet. I pray he concentrates on his school class and homework as much as he does on his guitars. If he delivers an outstanding report car, I will offer him a Cuban Cigar when he is ready for one, and his dad his grandpa and he, all three will enjoy it together.
It’s one of the most searing indictments of the greed that permeates the record business, including the cynicism and hero worship that often came along with it: “And did we tell you the name of the game, boy? / We call it riding the gravy train” — Have A Cigar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbdpv7G_PPg&list=RDtbdpv7G_PPg&index=1
