NY POLITICIANS ARE CALLING FOR TAX BREAKS TO BOOST TECH START-UPS
Joined by MacArthur “Genius” Fellow Majora Carter, Sunshine Bronx Co-Founder & Managing Partner Cheni Yerushalmi, and Bronx Entrepreneurs, lawmakers are urging action on federal legislation allowing Bronx entrepreneurs to deduct Up to $10,000 of their start-up costs, which is twice the current deduction.
U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Sunshine Bronx Co-founder & Managing Partner Cheni Yerushalmi, StartUp Box South Bronx Co-Founder Majora Carter, and Bronx entrepreneurs are urging Congress to pass targeted tax breaks that could help spark the growth of Bronx tech start-ups and create new jobs in the borough. Senator Gillibrand is pushing for legislation that would help tech start-ups offset their initial costs by increasing the deduction for start-up costs from $5,000 to $10,000.
