This coming Friday, June 29, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and State Senator Jeff Klein will host the borough’s annual Independence Day celebration, “New York Celebrates America,” at Orchard Beach. The event begins at 6 p.m., with fireworks planned for after sundown.
The boardwalk festival includes fun activities for the kids, such as face painting, magicians, balloon artists, Zumba and much more, as well as a music performance by Alive’n Kickin’.
The annual event draws thousands of Bronxites to the beach, and is produced by the Bronx Tourism Council under the auspices of the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation.
