Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra will perform ay a February 14 & 15th concert of Afro Latin Jazz of Colombia and Peru at Symphony Space.
Arturo and the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance believe strongly that Latin Jazz is music of the Americas and our concert is reflective of our country and city's expanding Latino demographic. While originally from their native countries all the participants are now living and working in New York City.
The concert is part of the 4th annual Composers Now Festival and features newly commissioned compositions by two female Peruvian composers: Laura Andrea Leguia and Ivonne Paredes.
On January 22nd at 7pm they present a Conversation with Composers moderated by Arturo O'Farrill at Symphony Space featuring all of the Colombian and Peruvian composers participating in the February concert. This is a FREE event open to the general public.
