Love Thy Neighbor?

A Word to The Wise. Before to move to 190 Fordham Street City Island, NYC... Fuhgeddaboudit https://youtu.be/Fz1K9UCpLRo

I've lived here for 20 years and after contacting The Board of Managers, and running for The Condo Board since I offer better-varied management expertise than any other owners in this building... My opinion, this is not worth the time, energy, or financial resources.

Small condos may have a definite appeal. Maintenance charges are generally lower than in large buildings. A small one could feel not so cold, not so impersonal, more a cup-of-sugar-from-your-neighbor kind of thing, but what draws some to such buildings may be a turnoff to others.

After all, not everyone wants to be saddled with significant charges which were not been sent out for competitive bidding and then taking on unnecessary increases in fees to pay for repairs which could have been done by the sponsor, like arranging for boiler repairs.

The bad news is that since there are only a few owners, any discord will be magnified and the non-minority majority factions have more influence.
