Ain't No Sunshine Till He’s Gone

These images gathered by my colleagues from The Associated Press show a detailed apocalyptic vision of #MoRonDisaters' Florida.

In six years there have been as many historic hurricanes in the continental United States, all of which intensified quickly before making landfall. Climate change helped fuel them. Yet, Republicans continue to be deniers of science.

The vulnerable seniors living in Florida need a grownup Governor looking to improve their quality of life, not trying to score political points elsewhere.

The Government in the Sunshine Act is a 1976 U.S. law intended to create greater transparency in government. It requires all meetings that are conducted by federal agencies to be open to the public unless it falls into one of the Sunshine Act's ten exemptions.

This is Florida after Hurricane Ian https://www.npr.org/sections/pictureshow/2022/09/29/1125903958/hurrican…

I was a reporter in Florida under previous Governors who were Republicans and Democrats and I never expected this to happen to the state where I went to college and where I got married and where my beautiful children were born.
The Sunshine State has not seen the government in the sunshine since #MoRon took over as Florida’s Governor.

Ronald Dion DeSantis is a Republican politician who has served since 2019 as the 46th governor of Florida. Before being elected governor, DeSantis represented Florida's 6th district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2018Heartbreakingng footage was captured by our surge probe of catastrophic storm surge washing away homes. I have never seen anything like this. We have now left the area as hoards of the emergency crew have arrived. #HurricaneIan  - youtube.com/watch?v=al8yTi…   https://youtu.be/al8yTiCVfro

Keep in mind that @GovRonDeSantis as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, the @HouseGOP Congressman voted #AGAINST federal aid for #NewJersey following Hurricane Sandy. @GovRonDeSantis is a #Florida political disaster.  #VoteBlueToSaveAmerica  #RepublicansAreTheProblem

The Democrat, Charles Joseph Crist Jr. is an American attorney and a grownup with a stellar political record. He served as the U.S. representative from Florida's 13th congressional district from 2017 to 2022. He also served as the 44th Governor of Florida from 2007 to 2011. Florida Attorney General (2003–2007), Florida Commissioner of Education (2001–2003), and, Member of the Florida State Senate (1992–1998) Crist has been a member of the Democratic Party since 2012. https://charliecrist.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Crist  He is a true gentleman. Asked at a news briefing on what he thought of DeSantis’s response to the hurricane so far, Crist said that it wasn’t the time to pass judgment on the governor’s performance.

“I don’t want to get into Monday morning quarterbacking before Monday,” Crist told reporters on Tuesday. “I don’t think it’s appropriate.”

“I think what we all need to do is protect our fellow Floridians, doing whatever we can to maintain that safety, watch out for the flooding, listen to local officials. I think that’s the appropriate posture right now.”

Meanwhile, at least 1were 2 killed in the storm - 2.2 million customers without power in Florida - Expected to make landfall in South Carolina as Cat 1 hurricane Friday afternoon

Republicans may be trying confusion when it comes to how climate change impacts these devastating storms, but the science is overwhelmingly clear.

To add insult to injury, DeSantis tried to silence Rebekah Jones an American geographer, specializing in using geographic information system (GIS) data to track hurricanes from reporting #Covid facts. He then had state troopers threaten her children with guns.

Well, imagine that.
