Nor'easter Storm Brewing

Submitted by ub on

There is a Nor'easter storm roaring towards the #USA East Coast. Hurricane Willa has come and gone, leaving behind enough energy and moisture to set off the season's first nor'easter.

This weather pattern will bring heavy rain and winds to the East Coast beginning Friday. The worst region to be impacted will be from Virginia to Maine. A combination of rain, wind and a low cloud ceiling is also likely to lead to airline delays and slow travel on major streets and highways.

Nor'easters are most common from Fall through the early Spring and can bring heavy snowstorms in the Winter. Forecasters say the development of a coastal low along the Southeast coast will impact the East Coast as it tracks north through the weekend.

The low is expected to produce isolated severe thunderstorms from northern Florida to the coastal Carolinas through Friday. The coastal storm will have a variety of threats: gusty winds, heavy rain, coastal flooding and a slight probability of winter weather.

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1A TO NOON EDT SATURDAY... COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT TO 3 P EDT SATURDAY...
