Not Getting Around Much Anymore

Yesterday, before going to teach one of my college classes, I decided to stop by and visit the oldest, coolest, most wonderful, and one of the wisest people I know. He is 95 year old Captain Ed Sadler, a retired fire-boat Captain.

Ed and I have shared many delightful visits and he has even come to my home for dinner and drinks. We have had many conversations over time, and yesterday was no exception. Ed recalled the days when my TOCAYO, Robert Moses was building our area and the many changes which occurred as a result.

Ed says he will not be attending City Island's Civic meetings, in fact he rarely leaves his Schoefield street home. He does however, enjoy regular visits from friends and welcomes everyone with a gentle smile.

If you have time, please contact his daughter Jean, or his son Dick to make sure your timing is just right.
