As we approach Labor Day, let us spend time with our families and make time for ourselves. But, Labor Day is really about recognizing working men and women and the contribution they have made to our country. They have been strengthened by unions that have long fought for worker rights. With both unemployment and under-employment too prevalent today, we should use this weekend to focus on how we can create more and better jobs!
Unfortunately, I find the increase in violent crime in the Bronx alarming. We must be told what is the strategy to fight back and if there is none, we should all insist we have one real soon. I cannot help but be reminded of our borough's bad old days!
