NYC FREE PUBLIC BROADBAND AND WI-FI

Submitted by ub on Sun, 08/21/2011 - 12:12

Plans are underway to enhance cellular telephone reception in the subway system, and NYC Transit has reached an agreement with a contractor to install a wireless cellular telephone infrastructure in underground stations. This plan will provide service in stations and on platforms, but excludes subway tunnels. Above-ground stations generally already have wireless cellular service by virtue of coverage from service providers’ existing cellular sites.

If you have any questions, or concerns, please contact MTA at (718) 330-1234, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., daily, or write Customer Service 2 Broadway, A11.146, NYC, NY 10004.
