Let the image of Mayor 108 fade, so the one of NYC's new Mayor 109 may finally begin to shine.

52 year old NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio was formally sworn in shortly after midnight during a ceremony in front of his family’s Brooklyn home.

Later today, Mayor Bill de Blasio was sworn in by former President Bill Clinton. They used a bible once owned by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Bill de Blasio is the first Democrat to be sworn in as Mayor of NYC in twenty years and his administration will surely be closely scrutinized.

You may recall that Bill de Blasio won a landslide victory on Nov. 5 after NYC voters apparently became tired and weary of watching The Big Apple turn into an increasing enclave for the rich under the twelve year term and the Plutocratic administration of his predecessor, billionaire Michael R. Bloomberg.
