President Obama visitS Baton Rouge, Louisiana to get a first look true view of the total devastation caused by the extensive flooding in the state.
On Friday, Obama said he wanted to get a first-hand look at the devastation and learn how the federal government was helping, but did not want to be interfering with the recovery.
Some Republicans criticized the president for playing golf instead of interrupting his vacation to go to Louisiana, though Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards had said he preferred that Obama delay visiting the state so his visit wouldn't divert law enforcement resources from recovery efforts.
