Too many people wrongly assume that creativity and being inventive fades with age, but the opposite is true.
I have often watched or encountered age discrimination especially in the media and technical fields. Unfortunately, the frat-boy culture of Silicon Valley has only gotten younger and cockier.
Research suggests that talent ages like fine wine. For example, US and Japan have more patents filed by 40-somethings, while seniors 55 and up generate the highest values. A study of Nobel physics laureates since the ‘80s show that many of them hit their stride around age 50. I wouldn’t bet against any of us.
