Retired NYPD Detective John Keeney, who was a member of the "Stickball Hall of Fame", has died at his Throggs Nech home in the The Bronx. He was 87 years old.
Det. Keeney was President John F. Kennedy's bodyguard on visits to New York. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor and sons Brian, a city Department of Finance judge, and Wayne, an ex-NYPD detective, his five grandchildren and his nine great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Benedict's Church, 2969 Otis Ave. Bronx.
