Only you were the last living member and founding father of The Platters.
Reed Reed was a native of Kansas City, Missouri and founded The Platters in Los Angeles, back in 1953. It was originally a quartet, the group won a string of talent shows, and performed up and down the California coast while the members worked days at a car wash and at other odd jobs.
