RIP: Maradona

Submitted by ub on

Diego Armando Maradona is an Argentine football manager and retired professional footballer. He was the coach of Argentine Primera. Born: October 30, 1960, Died: November 25, 2020. He was considered soccer’s greatest, while pursuing a personal life full of drug and alcohol abuse, which caused him plenty of health problems.

I never interviewed Maradona but I did interview Pele, who was considered the best. However, when playing football the sentence that was eventually shouted was “You think you are Maradona” - Rest in peace Diego. You died too young.

"I have lost a dear friend, and the world has lost a legend. One day, I hope, we will play soccer together in the sky."  Pele on Diego Maradona

Bold, fast, and utterly unpredictable, Maradona was a master of attack, juggling the ball easily from one foot to the other as he raced upfield. He shrugged off countless rivals and often scored with a devastating left foot, his most powerful weapon. http://apne.ws/nj872fx
