RIP MIKE WALLACE

The man who made 60 Minutes a television success died last night at age 93. Mike Wallace was an American broadcast pioneer

CBS TV plans to acknowledge Mr. Wallace’s death on “60 Minutes” on Sunday night, but programming was delayed by MASTERS golf championship playoffs. Network officials now plan to dedicate a special 60 Minutes edition to celebrate the life of Mike Wallace on April 15.

The one-week postponement will give CBS more time to prepare a very special program for this one of a kind TV Icon.

As a younger journalist, I have considerable respect and admiration for Mike Wallace. Years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting him and considered it an honor. He was delightfully pleasant to me and showed me his great sense of humor.
