72 year old folk singer Richie Havens, who entertained thousands at Woodstock, has died of a heart attack.
I first met Mr. Havens in Greenwich Village and interviewed him later when he returned to the site during the opening of the Woodstock Museum.
In memory of Mr Havens and Earth Day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEC_97p3C0k
'Way back when the City Island Museum on City Island Av. was in operation, I met Mr. Havens there several times----he wrote and sang a beautiful song about the whale that was saved on/near? City Island----I think the man who was then in charge of the site had been on the rescue team, and he and Ritchie were friends.
Does anyone else remember and have more definite memories?
