Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., in conjunction with the Bronx Tourism Council has announced that American Express has agreed to sponsor Savor The Bronx!, the boroughs first ever wide restaurant week, taking place from Tuesday, November 1st to Sunday November 13th.

“We’re excited to celebrate all the cuisines and dining options the Bronx has to offer, and happy to be a part of this inaugural event,” said Carol Engleman, Vice-President of American Express.

American Express’ sponsorship will help shed light on local establishments, highlighting places for foodies to experience the Bronx’s cultural diversity through the numerous dishes participating restaurants have to offer. Residents and visitors alike will be able to enjoy delicious dishes from the Americas, the Caribbean, Asia, Central America, Europe and Africa, all of which are available in the Bronx.

“We are so happy to have American Express sponsoring our first annual ‘Savor the Bronx!’ Restaurant Week,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. “I am thrilled that they will be throwing their support behind the Bronx’s first ever borough wide food and drink celebration.”

Having American Express as a sponsor will encourage those who appreciate good food to discover the unprecedented opportunity Savor The Bronx! offers to taste test the worldwide cuisine that can be found within the borough.

The highly anticipated event will showcase some of the best eateries the Bronx has to offer. They will offer a wide variety of special values and discounts like prix fixe three-course meals, as well as complimentary wine, coffee, and dessert.

Taste-tempting offers include 20% off the dinner tab at Bistro SK in City Island and Riverdale Steak House; complimentary dessert and espresso at Mario’s on Arthur Avenue and Portofino’s in City Island; and lunch and dinner specials at Spoto’s in Throggs Neck, Bronx Ale House in Kingsbridge, and Flamboyan Bar and Restaurant on Bruckner Boulevard.
