The Big Apple’s Fifth Avenue celebrates two hundred years being NYC’s most iconic and beloved locations.
While Communities across the country are gearing up for the Christmas shopping spree NYC is offering Fifth avenue. The city will close to vehicular traffic and open only for pedestrians from 48th Street to 55th Street on December eighth beginning at noon until 6 p.m.
The area developed into the luxury shopping district with the introduction of the Lord & Taylor Building in 1914. Then Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman in 1920s.
In more recent years Fifth Avenue has become home to some of New York City’s most beloved events like the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Easter Bonnet Parade, and the Puerto Rican Day Parades.
