SOTO WINS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

As part of Bronx Week and on this 100 Anniversary of The Bronx, City Island Images Publisher Roberto Soto has been recognized as a distinguished Bronx Volunteer of The Year.

City Island Images received the neighborhood impact award at The Bronx Museum from The Volunteer Coalition, which is made up of service minded organizations that seek to increase volunteerism in The Bronx.

The Bronx Volunteer Coalition recognized the services of City Island Images and presented Professor Roberto Soto with a certificate of honor, which he accepted before a group of local volunteers and dignitaries, including several City Islanders in appreciation to the thousands of page views his website regularly receives on monthly basis, according to Google analytic internet services.

Professor Soto launched this and several other websites, as well as lectured to thousands of communication students around the country. Soto has served as a distinguished visiting professor in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Indiana, Kansas, California, and Florida. He is also the founding Station Manager, News 12, The Bronx, was the first NY Bureau Chief, Associated Press Television News, served as principal News Director Telemundo TV Station Group, as well as the first Division Chief, VOA/USIA-TVM, was the founding Executive Producer in charge of News, Sports and Public Affairs at Univision Television Network, and his teams have won multiple national and international media awards.

The organization received 402 votes in support for Roberto Soto, who win the silver. We send our shout out to the Bronxite, who got highest total of 473 votes. Eileen Bonilla won the gold.
