SWINGIN THE NIGHT AWAY

Submitted by ub on

There are a few places in NYC where one can watch dancers perform. But at Midsummer Night Swing - Happening until July 16, these roles are reversed, and it’s you who is doing all the dancing.

he annual event transforms Lincoln Center into an open-air dance studio. Big-name and local bands perform nightly, playing swing and salsa to tango and disco, and everyone’s invited to boogie.

The lively summer festival is as much about participating as it is about performing, with free dance classes and sessions taught by local instructors.

The best part is the splendid location, in the middle of Lincoln Center, which is ringed by Manhattan’s most famous performing arts centers. You may not be on the grand stage at the Met, but close enough for comfort..

May I have this next dance?

OK, then please, save the last dance for me!
