I was appointed NYC Bureau Chief for APTN in 1999 and served for several years until I qualified for early retirement with a pension.
My old employer that is getting older this year is The Associated Press an American non-profit news agency headquartered in New York City, with TV operations based in London and Radio in Washington, DC.
The AP was founded in 1846 and operates as a cooperative, unincorporated association. Its members are U.S. newspapers and broadcasters. AP news reports that it distributes to its members and customers are produced in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
AP Archived assembled a visual history of the organization, offered in an eight-part monthly blog, “AP at 175.” @AP_Images
