NY has some of the largest counties in the US by population, our headquarters are located on The Bronx's smallest island.
Previously, #CityImages asked NYC officials about the plans for The Bronx Armory, but New York City Economic Development Corporation apparently enjoys stonewalling the news media.
" Thank you for reaching out. We finished our community engagement process and are incorporating the values, ideas, and perspectives we heard into the Together for Kingsbridge Vision Plan which will be released later this summer. I will add your contact to our press list so when we are ready to make an announcement, you can learn more." Nothing more!
Suddenly Empire State Governor Kathy Hochul and Big Apple Mayor Eric Adams are now pledging $200 million towards the long-empty Kingsbridge Armory here, although nobody really knows what’s going on here.
Previous plans to redo The Bronx armory have stalled over questions about funding, politics, or both.

The Bronx was called Keskeskeck by the Indians who sold it in 1639 to the Dutch West India Company. In 1641 Jonas Bronck, a Scandinavian, purchased 500 acres (200 hectares). Shortly after that religious dissenters and New England settlers moved there, trespassing on Dutch territory. The borough was a part of Westchester County until 1898 when it was incorporated into New York City.

The Bronx is the northeasternmost point in NYC, at the same time located in the southeastern part of the state, and is another one of the five boroughs of New York City. Bronx County, is also the only borough primarily on the “mainland,” whereas the other boroughs are on Long Island, Staten Island, or Manhattan Island. Bronx County has a lot of diversity and cultural importance for the region. The major industries in the county include health care and social assistance, retail trade, and accommodation and food services. City Island, A Slice of NYC Paradise has many seafood restaurants to choose from.
