The Fourth and Fifth Estates

Submitted by ub on

The Fourth Estate is a segment of American society that wields an indirect but increasingly significant influence even though it is not a formally recognized part of the political system. The mainstream media, newspapers, news agencies are also known as the free press.

The Fifth Estate is associated with bloggers, journalists publishing in non-mainstream media outlets, in social media. The Fifth Estate term dates to the 1960s counterculture, and in particular the influential The Fifth Estate, an underground newspaper first published in Detroit in 1965. Web-based technologies have enhanced the scope and power of the Fifth Estate.

And as the pressure increases on #Trumptaxes and #TrumpRussia #PayToPlay #SexAllegations and others, who is the first president that does not respect the First Amendment of The US Constitution and would like to silence the press, which does not report favorable stories?

The Filth Ass state could be described as a disgusting, dirty, obscene and offensive comments causing confusion, which Trump and his minions are creating, including smokescreens to hide the real facts.

This is what Trump Tweeted "The Fake News is working overtime. Just reported that, despite the tremendous success we are having with the economy & all things else, 91% of the Network News about me is negative (Fake). Why do we work so hard in working with the media when it is corrupt? Take away credentials? "

The White House Correspondents Association, which represents the press corps, expressed concern about the tweet.
"Some may excuse the president's inflammatory rhetoric about the media, but just because the president does not like news coverage does not make it fake," the association's president, Margaret Talev, said. "A free press must be able to report on the good, the bad, the momentous and the mundane, without fear or favor. And a president preventing a free and independent press from covering the workings of our republic would be an unconscionable assault on the First Amendment."
