As Univision's youngest Spanish-language news executive and then Telemundo, I’ve been instrumental in training some of the best.

Jorge Ramos, Maria Elena Salinas, Andres Cantor, who was not a singer but became famous with his GOOOL, and the only Jorge Camara. Jorge and I attended this Grammy Award in Los Angeles, where we met Paul McCartney and this award-winning Rap legend. Incidentally, he became one of Hollywood's most respected international entertainment journalists; Jorge Camara served as Chairman of the Board of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. He spent six years as HFPA President and served as an officer or board member for over 20 years.

LoC received a Grammy Award for Best Rap artist for quality rap performances. It was first presented at the 31st Annual Grammy Awards in 1989 and again at the 32nd Annual Grammy Awards in 1990; the award was split into two categories: Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. These two categories were combined again in 2012 due to a restructuring of Grammy categories, and the reinstated Award for Best Rap Performance was presented at the 54th Grammy Awards in 2012. The restructuring resulted from the Recording Academy's wish to decrease the number of categories and awards and eliminate distinctions between solo and duo or group performances.
