The NFL lockout of the official referees did not stop the season from starting. In fact, the 2012 NFL season started out with much more fan excitement than anticipated. The Giant’s Stadium was filled with 82,287 fans on Wednesday night as the Super Bowl champions took on the Dallas Cowboys. Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys came back from being down early, winning the game 24-17.
This win has lead sports fans to begin talks about a new Super Bowl champion already. After one game there is talk about the Cowboys being a Super Bowl contender. Isn’t it too soon? People seem to be getting too excited. Only one game has been played so far. It is difficult to determine a new Super Bowl champion after only seeing two teams play, regardless of the fact that the most recent champions lost. Wait until the rest of the teams make their first appearance before making any bets on the next Super Bowl.
