Veterans Day Commemoration,
at National Historic Site in Westchester County,
Friday, November 11
Veterans Day will be commemorated at St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site, in Mt. Vernon, on Friday, November 11. There will be a brief ceremony at 11 AM, followed by tours, talks, songs and living history demonstrations recalling the lives and service of veterans buried in the historic cemetery, with an emphasis on Civil War soldiers, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the
conflict of 1861-1865. This includes a 1 PM presentation by Professor Mark James Morreale of Marist College: “Awful Beyond Description”: Hudson Valley Soldiers and the Civil War.
Parking and admission are free – refreshments served.
When: Friday, November 11, 2011, open from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Directions: Hutchinson River Parkway south to Exit 8, Sandford Blvd., and follow directional signs to the site. Hutchinson Parkway north to Exit 7, Boston Road, and follow directional signs for left turn onto the Post Road and right onto Pelham Parkway. Proceed over small drawbridge, and then left onto S. Columbus Ave.; diner is at left.
