Determining when, where and with whom you give birth are very personal decisions. But late last night while most City Islanders were feeling comfortable inside their cooled environment with windows closed and air conditioners buzzing, NYFD engine 70 and EMS crews were dispatched to help deliver a brand new baby outdoors and outside the entrance of the condominiums located at 190 Fordham Street, just around the corner from the City Island Community Center and The City Island Nautical Winds Museum.

City Island Images was told the father is an anesthesiologist and the new MoM, Jennine is a plastic surgeon. The two rent a condo at Nautical Winds. When emergency crews were called to the scene, she gave birth to a another City Island Clamdigger. She's a seven pound baby girl, who may have been taken to St. Luke's Hospital, according to requests made by her physician parents.

City Island enjoys a New England-type culture which is the antithesis of other parts of NYC.
Native City Islanders are known as “Clamdiggers". It has been this way since the early 1900s'. Non-native City Islanders are called "Musselsuckers".
