This independence day, as we celebrate the birth of democracy, it's worth remembering that America is truly an exceptional nation in many ways good, and some not so much. Above are charts of ways that the USA is #1.

Whether you measure it using exchange rates or get down with PPP, the U.S. is still the world's largest economy.

We pay the most for healthcare. Yes, it is insanely expensive. But it's always good to have a reminder of just how expensive it is compared to other developed nations.

No other nation can touch our military spending. Our military budget is higher than the next-highest spenders, that are less than a quarter of ours.

There is nearly one gun for every single man, woman, and child in America. We also incarcerate nearly one thousand prisoners per 100,000 population, which is the world's highest. Thirty-six of our states also have higher incarceration rates than any country in the world and is costing the US plenty, proving that freedom is not free, especially behind bars.

America is the worst among nations when it comes to paid parental leave. But this means that we're first in not providing paid leave.

We need to stop fighting each other and start working for -We to people and for the benefit of all of US.
