Thanksgiving can easily be overshadowed by family, friends, food, football, or the Black Friday shopping frenzy.
Giving thanks may be relegated to a prayer, a toast, or a few comments of reflection, so allow me to offer a gentle reminder of gratefulness, and appreciate the fact that we enjoy the benefits of a good education.
I am thankful for having wonderful parents, who were my first teachers, for my loving family, for my good health, I am thank-full for being an educator who is engaging students with innovative lesson plans; for teachers utilizing new media as an effective tool; for scholars who labor in difficult environments, for administrators who are the first inside the building and the last to leave; for all who are working with students to open their eyes to wisdom and knowledge, to encourage their growth, to teach them leadership, as well as strategic communication skills and to embrace democracy for the greater good.
