World Press Freedom

Back in 2013, United Nations officials gathered to commemorate a day set aside for freedom of the press, although there are a growing number of countries, which are UN members but do not respect the press.

Freedom of the press is the solemn right to circulate opinions without censorship by the government. Americans have so far enjoyed a freedom of the press under the First Amendment to the Constitution.

It became important for democracy to be able to speak out publicly regarding a political opinion freely and without fear of retaliation. Out of these concerns arose the importance of the freedom of speech, press, and assembly... May God continue to bless The US Constitution and The United States of America.

India three points down to 136 in World Press Freedom Index…
