World Series Champions

The Chicago Cubs are the new world champions of baseball. They beat CCleveland Indians 8-7 after a very exciting and nail-biting spectacle that went into overtime and also included a rain delay.

The sports fans watched all seven games. The heightened interest was because the last time the #ChicagoCubs won the #WorldSeries was back in 1908. The Cleveland Indians last won in 1948.

It's been a long long wait for both teams, but in the spirit of fair play and to respect transparency, I must confess that I was rooting for The Tribe. My late and great baseball fanatic father named me after a Cleveland Indians pitcher Bob Feller.

Robert William Andrew Feller (November 3, 1918 – December 15, 2010) was nicknamed "The Heater from Van Meter", "Bullet Bob", and "Rapid Robert".

The documentary, Baseball's Been Very, Very Good to Me: The Minnie Minoso Story, was about a Cuban major league superstar, who I had the pleasure of meeting and also played for Cleveland before moving to Chicago, but White Six, not Cubs. http://www.pbs.org/video/2365436462/
