It may seem like success for most Americans earning a six-figure salary, but it feels more like five figures at the end of the year.

Do you know how far your money goes? Well, it depends on where you live. In a central metropolitan area, that annual six-figure paycheck is reportedly worth just $36,000, after taxes and accounting for the steep cost of living.

According to an analysis of 76 of the largest US cities, that is, to see where $100,000 goes furthest

SmartAsset is a consumer-focused financial information provider. Unfortunately, where #CityImages has its world headquarters in New York, which ranked last, with take-home pay of $35,791.

Other notoriously expensive cities like San Francisco, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Boston, and Seattle joined it in the bottom ten.
